It was founded in 1994 by former firefighter brothers Robin and Chris Sorensen. In 2005, they created the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation providing funding, equipment, and education opportunities to first-responders and public safety organizations. Sandwiches
At the time of this writing, Firehouse Subs has one vegetarian sandwich that can be made vegan. The “Veggie” comes with sauteed bell peppers, sauteed mushrooms, sauteed and raw onions, tomato, mayo, deli mustard, Italian dressing, provolone, cheddar, and Monterey Jack. In order to make it vegan, remove both the mayo and the cheeses. Replace the mayo with any of the vegan condiments listed below.

Firehouse Subs has a variety of vegan chips to choose from. The flavors available vary by store, but they typically have Sun Chips, Mrs. Vickies, and Lays to choose from. Check the ingredients list to ensure the chips are vegan before purchase.
