Dragon Broccoli

Easily the most interesting vegan menu option at Red Lobster (and Peta’s recommendation Dragon Broccoli Red Lobster describes this dish as “golden-fried florets drizzled with a spicy soy-ginger sauce and topped with green onions.” Forewarning, this dish is spicy!

An important note about the Dragon Broccoli is that it is cooked in a shared fryer with seafood products and products that contain milk so if you have allergies then pass on this option.

Rice Pilaf

Not Actual Red Lobster Rice Pilaf

One vegan side option that pairs well with the Dragon Broccoli would be the Rice Pilaf. As this is just plain rice without much seasoning, you will want to pair it with something.

Marinara Pasta

Not Actual Red Lobster Pasta

This Marinara Pasta dish isn’t on the Red Lobster menu, but can be made from ingredients on hand. The marinara sauce is 100% vegan-friendly. Pair this option with one of the sides below to add variety to your meal.

Garden Salad (Without Cheese)

Not Actual Red Lobster Garden Salad

While a side salad is not a very exciting option, most restaurant garden salads can be made vegan friendly including Red Lobster’s. The cheese needs to be removed when ordering to make this side salad vegan.

Red Lobster only has one vegan vegan friendly salad dressing: Champagne Vinaigrette.

Plain Baked Potato (No Butter or Sour Cream)

Another unexciting side option is a plain baked potato. In order to liven this up, pair it with one of the other side dishes or top it with Pico de Gallo.

Sea-Salted French Fries

Not Actual Red Lobster French Fries
As you can see so far, sides are the way to go at Red Lobster. Another safe vegan side is the french fries. Red Lobster’s ketchup is also vegan-friendly. As with the Dragon Broccoli, Red Lobster’s french fries are cooked in a shared fryer with seafood products and products that contain milk so if you have allergies then pass on this option.

Seasoned Fresh Broccoli

Not Actual Red Lobster Broccoli

If you pass on the Dragon Broccoli, then Red Lobster’s “Seasoned Fresh Broccoli” is another broccoli option for you. Pair this with the pasta or potato above for a more complete meal.

Margaritas

Not Actual Red Lobster Margarita

Since Red Lobster doesn’t have very many exciting vegan options, you might as well liven things up with a Margarita. According to the allergy guide, Red Lobster’s Peach (Frozen or On the Rocks), Perfect Patron, and Raspberry (Frozen or On the Rocks) are all vegan friendly.

Summary

Unfortunately Red Lobster’s famous Cheddar Biscuits are not vegan (cheese and milk), but they still have some interesting options available for plant-based eaters. Give their Dragon Broccoli and rice pilaf a try or opt for the pasta, salad, and side of broccoli. Making a meal out of the side options is the best bet at Red Lobster.
